Description
The Gas Range Spark Ignition Switch Assembly includes the igniter switch and complete wire harness that supplies gas to light the surface burners on the cooktop. If the element itself shorted out, or if the igniter of your range glows for more than 90 seconds without lighting the gas flame, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. The igniter must glow white hot to properly light the burner; if it glows red or orange it is not functioning properly. Replacing this assembly will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the gas range and novice repair experience. You must unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.
