Step 1: Turn off the electricity that is powering your range hood or vent. If you're not sure how to do this, consult your local electrician for further instructions.
Step 2: Remove the screws from the back of the vent or hood that are holding the chimney cap in place.
Step 3: Carefully remove the old Whirlpool W11417439 chimney cap.
Step 4: Place the new chimney cap into place, making sure it fits securely and is not loose.
Step 5: Replace the screws that were used to hold the old cap in place. Use a screwdriver to tighten them securely.
Step 6: Turn the power back on to the hood or vent and test out the new chimney cap by turning it on to make sure it functions properly.
