Step 1: Unplug the Appliance
Begin by unplugging your appliance from the wall outlet. This will ensure that you do not get an electric shock while working on the appliance.
Step 2: Remove Existing Knob
Using a small flathead screwdriver, carefully pry off the existing knob from the control panel.
Step 3: Prepare the Replacement Knob
Now it’s time to prepare the replacement knob. Carefully remove the backing and any adhesive from the new Whirlpool WP74002446 KNOB- BURN and set aside.
Step 4: Attach the New Knob
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, attach the new knob to the control panel. Make sure that the screws are firmly tightened so that the knob won’t become loose over time. Also, make sure that the knob is pointing towards the “on†position so that it is easy to access.
Step 5: Test the New Knob
Once the new knob is securely in place, plug in the appliance and test to make sure that the knob functions properly. Turn the knob and make sure that the appliance turns on/off as expected.
Step 6: Clean Up
When you’re done, be sure to dispose of the old knob in the proper manner. Additionally, make sure that all tools used to attach the new knob are placed back in their original locations.
