Step 1: Unplug the appliance. Make sure that it is unplugged to avoid any electric shocks.
Step 2: Remove the screws from the top of the door. Use a screwdriver to take out the screws securely.
Step 3: Take the control panel off the door. This will allow you to access the Whirlpool LW11091610 FIP DOOR LOCK.
Step 4: Remove the existing lock. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the lock from the door.
Step 5: Put in the new lock. Line up the new lock with the holes and secure it with the screws.
Step 6: Reattach the control panel. Carefully put back the control panel in position and tighten the screws.
